By January of 1734, Governor St. Ovide and Commissaire-Ordonnateur Le Normant recognized the fact that the "occupied" properties on the North Shore (Costé du Nord) did not necessarily match their original granted size. As a result, they instructed Francois Vallée to survey, number and report upon them. Although he used a slightly different numbering system in 1741, this report respects his 1734 system.
