Fortress of Louisbourg
Parish Records (1713 - 1758)

Between 1713 and 1758, parish priests maintained records of the religious ceremonies they performed; their records being very similar to those of modern day. These records document events such as the births, marriages, and deaths of the people of the Fortress of Louisbourg. They are organized primarily by the type of ceremony; and secondly, by year.

If you are interested in acquiring further information about the parish records, please contact the Fortress of Louisbourg, Library Services.
